1. A musical storm has been brewing on both sides of the Pond as the impending American return of the 'Hurricane' draws near.
On September 5, 2011, the incomparable, Grace Jones, in all her androgynous glory, is set to to release an album in the United States for the first time in twenty years. The album, 'Hurricane', with tracks with titles such as, Corporate Cannibal and William's Blood, has collaborations with an eclectic mix of producers like Sly and Robby, Tricky and Brian Eno. It's been a fan favorite since it first became available in the United Kingdom in 2009. For it's American release, 'Hurricane' will include a dub version second disc of the entire album.
The consummate perfectionist, "Ms. Jones" has been so involved with the creative process of the album that she would only place the design of the album cover in the capable hands of long time friend Jean Paul Goude, which is sure to help make it an instant collect able.

The hit stage play 'Hairpeace' has been receiving rave reviews for its emotional yet comedic tinged addressing of such difficult and delicate subjects as the intricacies of the relationship between mother and daughter, alcoholism and cancer. Written by Jania Liddell and directed by Fabian Thomas, the play explores the life of four women living in modern day Atlanta and the dynamics of the sisterhood that exists between the ladies. Actresses Noelle Kerr (who plays the lead character, Carmen), along with Marguerite Newland, Faith Gordon, Julene Robinson, Veronique Smith, Kerrie Ann Cameron, Shanique Brown and singer/songwriter Althea Hewitt who alternates with Brown, form the all star cast exploring the enduring bonds of their friendship.

One woman fashion powerhouse and the main reason for the inception of the term, 'supermodel', Naomi Campbell, is not only the September cover girl for 'V-Spain' magazine but will once again take over the cat-walks of London's Fashion Week this September after an unheard of twenty five years in the business.

4. When the New York City Ballet premiers it's underwater inspired spectacular, 'Kingdom of the Sea', on September 22, 2011, it will be child of paradise and make-up maven, Pat McGrath's fantastical imagination that will be responsible to what has been described as its, "...magnificently captivating..." creative make-up direction. McGrath who has had an illustrious career in the fashion world, creating make-up lines for such notables as Giorgio Armani, was also recently picked to helm Proctor and Gamble's make-up division.
When music icon Sir Paul McCartney (who wrote the score for the production) became involved with the project, he knew the only person that would be able to understand his costuming vision was his daughter, famed designer Stella McCartney. Stella in turn realized immediately that only Pat McGrath would be able to translate the idea of an 'ocean kingdom' onto the faces of the cast. Critic are already raving and Ms. McGrath's work is already being seen as definitely Tony worthy.

Sculptor, photographer, mixed media, and installation artist, Albert Chong, will be one of the many artists featured in the Mutual Gallery and Art Center's 'Under 40' Art Exhibition for Jamaican as well as non-Jamaican residing in Jamaica.
